glenn beck is even crazier in hd 17

I finally got my high-definition receiver this past weekend for the new flat-screen TV we finally bought for Christmas.  I was flipping through the pathetically small line-up of true HD programming when I happened upon Fox News HD.  The Glenn Beck Show was on.  Holy crap!  I had no idea.  The guy just radiates crazy in high definition.  It was his eyes that really told the tale.  HD makes it impossible to avoid the ice blue insanity of those eyes.  It is long past time the republican faithful disowned these Partisan Profits [sic] of the Airwaves.

I think Howard Beale said it best:

Time to shake off the crazy, folks. This has been going on long enough.

Serious torture. I would pay money to see Hannity get Becked. Even that promo picture looks like the last you could expect is common sense. Restraining orders? That seems more likely.

Beck shocked me out of my blogging somnolence. The word “creepy” keeps coming to mind. The kind you wouldn’t want within 100 yards of a school.

It’s been fun to just read and comment on other people’s stuff, but I got a couple new blogs marinating that may stir things up a bit in the near future.

      Thanks for the kinds words!

Apt name. What gets to me, and apparently seems lost on many republicans, is that there really is no liberal voice in mainstream media who has an equally insane persona.

Thanks, miguel. I love this quote as well:

Television is not truth. Television is a God-damn amusement park. Television is a circus, a carnival. A traveling troop of acrobats, storytellers, dancers, singers, jugglers, side-show freaks, lion tamers and football players. We’re in the boredom-killing business.

I haven’t killed my TV yet, but it has put in its place for sure.

Love your gravatar, love your “Network” quote here, and this post is recc’d for the title alone! Pure comedy gold, baby!

It’d be even funnier if it weren’t direct evidence of the utter insanity of millions of my fellow citizens. But I’ll take what I can get!

        Later, Daddy-O!

Thanks, Daddy-O. Makes me wonder if they really know the Internet exists in its current form and what that means to the greater conversation going on. The counter narrative online is so diametrically apposed to that in the corporate media that I wonder how long such a cognitive dissonance can last.

The left has gotten there quicker, of course, but they were already predisposed to doing so. I just think it may take the right a little extra time given the gravity of their long-term brainwashing on certain things. Nixon & Reagan are like Jim Jones to many on the right and that sort of sadistic influence takes time to wear off.

It’s all just a matter of time now

JEM, I am sure hopeful that the blinders are coming down. It is chilling how people became Zom-Bushes and could not respond coherently to any challenges. They simply go ballistic. blithering and cursing without any relevant arguments. Chuck Norris was on larry King one time and he was losing it completely.

Glenn Beck is the symptom of a virus much more dangerous the swine flu.
